SGMC Health is pleased to present this 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for the Valdosta and Smith Northview Campuses in Valdosta, Georgia. The plan was developed by SGMC staff in conjunction with input from the data gathered by Drs. Keith Lee and Joseph Robbins (Valdosta State University faculty). Drs. Lee and Robbins have extensive consulting experience, having worked with numerous public and private organizations on needs assessment reports, feasibility studies, and economic impact analyses.

The data gathered for this report includes both primary and secondary data to offer a holistic account of the healthcare challenges and needs facing Lowndes County. Secondary data compiled from national and state organizations offer objective, aggregate measures that offer insights into socioeconomic conditions, healthcare challenges, service provider availability, and leading morbidity causes. These measures also show how Lowndes County compares with state and national metrics. Primary data sources come from two data collection methods: a Focus Group and a community survey. Summaries from each of these three methods are provided below before turning to a discussion of SGMC Health’s Implementation Plan.
